Commercial/Residential Wastewater Design & Products

OSSF Design Solutions:

At PWS, LLC we realize that many considerations must be evaluated (i.e. waste strength, waste flow, facility/home size and operations/utilization) during the process of designing effective and efficient OSSF (On-Site Sewage Facility) systems. Many planners look at the immediate needs of the client, not considering the desire to expand or increase services (for commercial projects) if the business is successful or if additional opportunities arise which may alter the end-use of a facility. We understand that the location of a facility is vital to business revenue and access to a customer base and that disposal capabilities are a crucial element of proper planning.

Regardless of the type of client that we serve, we are committed to reviewing all these factors to establish the best system to meet current and future wastewater needs.

PWS, LLC recognizes that the need for high quality and technically proficient OSSF systems is critical in today’s competitive market and environmentally sensitive permitting process. System design should not only focus on the economical disposal of effluent for a given facility, but should also examine existing potential for water reuse at the facility to reduce operating costs and enhance environmental benefits.

OSSF Product Solutions:

In an effort to meet the needs of installers, PWS, LLC provides quality OSSF products, delivered efficiently to the jobsite (if desired) at a reasonable cost. OSSF product technology is constantly changing and PWS, LLC iscommitted to pursuing both new and existing products to meet the needs of our clients.

Rainwater Harvesting Design & Supplies

Rainwater is a valuable natural resource that can be collected for household use. Collecting rainwater in tanks and using it can reduce your water bills, provide a chlorine-free supply of fresh drinking water, and reduce community infrastructure costs.

Rainwater can be used for many different purposes dependant on the quality of the rainwater you are able to capture. The biggest issue in collecting rainwater is keeping it free of leaves, bird droppings and dead animals, and avoiding contamination with pollutants like heavy metals and dust.

Rainwater Harvest Design and Product Solutions:

At PWS, LLC we understand that there are four basic components to a well designed rainwater harvest system as follows:

1. Collection Area - In most cases, the component is a roof.

2. Conveyance Group – This component group consists of gutters, downspouts, first flush diverter systems and piping to the tank/cistern. First flush diverters should be as simple as possible so that little or no maintenance is required. The purpose of a first flush diverter is to divert the first few gallons of water off the roof to drain so that the water in the tank/cistern stays as clean as possible.

3. Storage Facility/Cistern –This is typically the most expensive component of the rainwater system. Careful consideration should be placed on the site, intended current and future uses for the collected rainwater prior to determining what type of storage best suits each situation.

Above ground storage tanks are the most common option, as they do not require excavation for tank placement and easily facilitate water flow by gravity. Tanks should be dark in color to prevent algae growth in the tank.

In ground tanks are more expensive as they require installation and a pump to recover water. However, they are out of site and provide cooler storage for the water collected.

4. Distribution Group – This component consists of the piping and filtration, if used, for transfer and prepare the rainwater for reuse.
